So there are many kind of negative articles and videos on Almond Milk and other plant based milks going around the internet and I thought it would be great to talk about it.
I eliminated all negative thoughts in my mind and I am not one to speak bad about something, but veganism is my passion and I am here to defend it.
There have been some claims circulating that Almond milk is unhealthy and may be a danger to the environment.
I'll make it short and simple.
"In order to produce a single almond you need the equivalate of 1.1 gallons of water.
25.3 gallons of water is needed to produce a serving of almond"
At first glance, 1.1 gallons of water seems a lot of water per almond. But how many almonds or exactly how much water are needed to make one gallon of almond milk? And how can we compare this to cow milk?
Let me remind you, it has been scientific proven that per pound, cow's milk uses nearly twice as much water as homemade almond milk and around 11 times more water than commercial almond milk!
A study shows that only in California alone, 1500 gallons of water per person per year is used on meat and dairy products.
Yet another classic example, people bashing on things pointing out the negative side of one thing while ignoring what the truly damaging side is causing.
It is so disappointing that articles like that even exist and we even have to discuss these facts.
But there are people who believe some stuff written on the internet without knowing the real deal. It is so important to educate yourself on true facts. It's 2018 after all.

You know what we need? More articles about Why Cow's milk is terrible. Did you know in one glass of cow milk there are up to 7 drops of puss? Yeeks.
Did you know there are so many vegan milk options?
- Soy milk
- Almond milk
- Hemp milk
- Oat milk
- Coconut milk
- Rice milk
- Quinoa milk
The list goes on.
They are saying that Almond milk is unhealthy because it's only 2% almond and the rest is water with artificial sweeteners and flavors.
But let me tell you: Almond, water, artificial sweeteners and flavors are NOT being scientifically linked to the 50 leading causes of death BUT eating animal products and dairy HAS.
Of course, artificial sweetners and flavours is not the healthiest thing you can consume but it's not fair to be so negative about almond milk because all you're doing is giving out the option to cow's milk. And we already know what cow's milk is going to cause a lot more health and environmental problems than some nuts and water.
Still don't know how bad cow milk is for you? The protein in cow's milk is stimulating IGF1 insulin-like growth factor which promotes the growth of cancerous cells in our body. Almond protein doesn't do that.
Cow's milk contains around 60 naturally occurring hormones from another species. And I'm talking about natural, bio milk. Those from the stores have the additional growth hormones that infect the cows. There are so many diseases caused by this it would blow your mind.
Cow's milk is linked to hip fractures, diabetes, irritable bowel syndrome, crohn's disease, asthma, allergies, autoimmune diseases, the list goes on.
So stop with the Almond Milk debate, just because it has some sweeteners and flavors, it's ridiculous.
Next time you are consuming cow's milk, think again.
