"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and it may be necessary from time to time to give a stupid or misinformed beholder a black eye."
- Jim Henson
In 2016 I was asked to take part of a beauty contest organized by my University. I always thought these kind of things were superficial and not something that would take up my interest.
But after many requests, I accepted it. And then they gave me the big news: the event was taking place in two days.
I had zero preparations for anything, basically a very short amount of time to figure out what outfits to wear.
It was a pretty funny situation and I felt all over the place, so I wanted to share with you guys my last minute outfits I put together at my Miss University 2016.
Just so you can see how you can rock the stage without preparations.
The first outfit required was a casual short jeans and a white top.
Sounds simple right?
Luckily it was!
Something that I could find easily in my closet.
Short jeans: Rue21
I found Rue21 in Wisconsin Dells at Tanger Outlets and it has been one of my favorite clothing shop!
The thing that stressed me out the most from this competition was the bathing suit contest!
Walking casually in a swimsuit on a stage while hundred of people watching not my thing, it's just not!
Made me want to give up 2-3 times that morning, not kidding.
But somehow I convinced myself to do it, and you know what? I slayed that stage!
Swimsuit: New Yorker
The diva round! This was by favorite one.
Basically you had to be creative and put out a fancy diva outfit.
Red is my color, so be sure I slayed the stage in red.
Scarf: New Yorker
Gloves: New Yorker
Purse: New Yorker
The last round was the elegant evening gown.
I wasn't sure if I wanted to add this here because honestly I forgot where I got this dress! But I do love it.
Sorry this might not be helpful but I still want to add a sneak peek here just so you can have a bigger picture of what went on in the competition.
Overall it was a fun experience and I don't regret taking part on it.
Life is short so take on every silly oportunity.
